This fall in Waycross, there are plenty of family-friendly events that you won’t want to miss. Here are a few that we recommend.

  • Bark in the Park & Pet Costume Contest – Head to Laura S. Walker State Park with your favorite furry friend on Oct. 6 to take part in a pet-friendly hiking event. Before the hike, there will be a pet costume contest near the park office. Following the hike, you can explore the park’s new dog park.
  • Fall Festival – A fun, family-friendly fall festival taking place on Oct. 20 is also located at the Laura S. Walker State Park. It will feature tons of fall activities and treats, including hayrides and a haunted house.
  • Pumpkin Fest –This annual Pumkin Fest takes place along the historic main street of Waycross, making it a true community event. The festival, which is being held on Oct. 25 this year, offers something for everyone, including pumpkin carving, pumpkin creations, live music, costume contests, and games.
  • Okefenokee Agricultural Fair –Head to the Okefenokee Fairgrounds from Nov. 6-10 to take part in the annual Okefenokee Agricultural Fair, which features livestock shows, local music and entertainment, rides, and more.
