Every year, millions of American make New Year’s resolutions and then quickly bail on them by February. If this sounds like you every year, try some of these manageable New Year’s resolutions from the New York Post that you can actually keep.

  1. Avoid toxic relationships. If there are certain people in your life who give you stress and make you feel overwhelmed every time you see them, try paring down or eliminating this relationship. If it is a person who you can’t remove from your life like a family member or co-worker, do what you can to avoid confrontation.
  2. Spice up your lunch routine. Do you go to the same lunch spots every week? This year, commit to trying someplace new once a week or packing your lunch.
  3. Stop watching bad TV. Just because a show is popular that doesn’t you have to watch it. Pare down your DVR or Netflix watchlist. Cut out three shows you don’t really like and add something new and exciting.
  4. Exercise once a week. If you always make the goal of getting in shape, but always fail, it may be because your goal is too big. Instead, try committing to exercising once a week in an organized class. Once you get in the habit of this, you might find other things in your life start changing, too.
