Spring Car Service Tips

Spring Car Service TipsA new season is coming in fast, which means there’s not much time to prepare your car for the change in weather if you haven’t started already. Spring car service is a necessity for drivers who want to spend as much time on the road as possible, whether it be taking the kids to baseball games or going on a much-needed vacation. These are a few key items to check off your to-do list before spring arrives.

Replace the Wipers

Spring rains are bound to have you using your car’s windshield wipers fairly often. It pays to be prepared, and preparation starts with replacing your windshield wipers for the new season. As a general rule, the windshield wipers should be replaced every six months. Fortunately, a new set of wipers is inexpensive and takes just a few minutes to install.

Change the Oil

Consistently changing your car’s oil is a necessity in optimizing performance. Oil is responsible for cooling, protecting, and cooling vital components within the engine block. Old oil can’t perform its job as well as fresh oil, and after a long winter, that’s exactly what your car needs. Protecting your engine and ensuring that you spend more time on the road this spring is as easy as getting an oil change at Robbie Roberson Ford.

Check the Filters

Your car has a few filters that need to be replaced regularly to maintain everything from proper performance to clean air. Checking the engine and cabin air filters is a simple, yet important task that most drivers can do at home or have done at Robbie Roberson Ford. Simply consult your owner’s manual to see how to check the filters in your specific make and model vehicle, or ask to have your filters checked and replaced if needed during your next service appointment.

There are several additional steps that you can and should take to get your ride ready for spring, from checking the battery to giving your tires a once over. To have all of your necessary springtime maintenance done quickly and correctly, bring your vehicle in to Robbie Roberson Ford.
