Once again, Ford is setting a new standard for capability with the unveiling of its all-new 7.3-liter V8 gasoline engine. Available for the 2020 Ford F-Series Super Duty, the new gas V8 engine offers best-in-class horsepower and best-in-class torque, and it’s expected to provide superior efficiency.
The 2020 Ford F-Series Super Duty 7.3-liter V8 will deliver 430 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 475 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm, both of which are best among heavy-duty pickups powered by gas V8 engines. The new V8 joins the 6.2-liter V8 that comes standard for the F-Series Super Duty as well as the third-generation 6.7-liter Power Stroke® V8 diesel.
“The 7.3-liter is designed for maximum durability in the harshest environments given that our customers live and work in these conditions every day,” said Joel Beltramo, Ford manager for gas V8 engines. “This engine has the largest displacement in its class and is designed to provide benefits in key areas like power, durability, ease of maintenance, and total operating costs.”
Ford intends to offer a version of the 2020 Ford F-Series Super Duty 7.3-liter V8 for standard for its F-450 chassis cab, F-550, new F-600, F-650 and F-750 Medium Duty trucks, and F-53 and F-59 stripped chassis models. This version of the 7.3-liter gas V8 will generate 350 horsepower and 468 lb-ft of torque and be made available with fuel consumption-improving calibration, making it a must for commercial customers.
The new 2020 Ford F-Series Super Duty will be available later this year at Robbie Roberson Ford. For more information on this mighty truck, stop into the showroom and pick the brain of one of our friendly experts.
