It may be winter here in America, but in Georgia, we still get to enjoy mild weather all season long, so although much of the country of bundled up indoors, that doesn’t mean we have to. In fact, here are some great winter events along the Georgia coast that you should consider attending.
- Sharktooth Sandbar Paddle. Head to Fort McAllister State Park the weekend of January 20th to join a family-friendly canoe paddle around the salt marshes.
- Old Time Oyster Roast. The Kingsland Lions Club will be hosting its annual Old-Time Oyster Roast February 3rd from 6-8pm. If you love some good seafood and fun, get your tickets to this great event.
- Mardi Gras Festival. You don’t have to be in New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras. Head down to Mary’s on Saturday, February 10th for a family-friendly festival that features a parade, food, bicycle tour, 5K, and more.
- Whiskey, Wine, & Wildlife. This festival can potentially include three of your favorite things—food, good drinks, and animals. This event benefits the Jekyll Island Foundation and takes place February 8th-11th on the island.
