2019 Ford Fusion Gets New Co-Pilot360™ Driver-Assist Technology

2019 Ford FusionFord has revealed its revamped 2019 Fusion sedan, which gets a new grille, wheel designs, colors, and a sleeker body. But for its aesthetic updates, the big news with the 2019 Ford Fusion is its newest featured technology—Ford Co-Pilot360™, which offers up the most comprehensive and advanced suite of standard driver-assist technologies on the market.

“People tell us they are stressed with crowded roads and more distracted drivers and pedestrians. Our Ford Co-Pilot360 with standard automatic emergency braking and other technologies can help them drive more confidently so they can enjoy the journey,” said Corey Holter, Ford car group marketing manager.

Ford Co-Pilot360 Protect will be the standard suite offered from the base level, featuring technologies such as automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot information system, lane keeping system, rear backup camera, and auto high-beam lighting.

For the Fusion SE and up, Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist adds voice-activated navigation and SiriusXM® Traffic and Travel Link, as well as SYNC® 3 with 8-inch LCD touchscreen. The 2019 Ford Fusion SE and above will also be offered with the Ford+Alexa app, which enables drivers to utilize thousands of Alexa skills; Waze compatibility for enhanced navigation experience; and an embedded 4G LTE modem capable of delivering Wi-Fi for up to 10 devices.

Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection will automatically apply the vehicle’s brakes to help prevent or mitigate front-end collisions, and the Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Alert will monitor vehicles in your blind spot and alert you when you try to change lanes or when backing up.

In addition to these impressive features, Ford will continue to offer new and improved state-of-the-art driver-assist technologies. These technologies include Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go and Lane Centering as well as Evasive Steering Assist. Next year, Ford will add reverse brake assist with automatic emergency braking to help prevent rear-end collisions when backing up.
